Phonology

is the study of sound patterns (sound system) and acoustic features, from the oral cavity down to the larynx that contains the vocal cord, and the physical procedures the vocal cords go through in order to produce a single sound.

 


 

Sociolinguistics

the study of how society and linguistics interact, how social variables influence language, and how cultural issues provide challenges.

 

 

Morphology and Syntax

Morphology studies words by breaking them down into smaller units known as morphemes, morphology examines word structures, their meaningful components, and how each component might contribute meaning to the sentence.
However, the study of syntax concentrates on grammar and the way words are used in certain word locations by combining them to create the right sentence meaning.


Discourse Analysis

This field examines how people's utterances and sentences vary depending on their own understanding; a single sentence may be interpreted differently depending on an individual's metalinguistic ability and personal knowledge. It is simply the study of language in social contexts.

 

Second language acquisition

This field examine how a second language is acquired and understood by the brain and the way it analyzes the language, how it accepts and deals with the new language morphologically and syntactically, from contrasting between adults and children according to their brain growth and what kind of difficult situations they face while learning.
 
 

Speech therapy

This area of study examines ways to treat language and speech disorders so that you can use your knowledge as a speech therapists to help guide and address the speech problem to help the person speak the language accurately. and that's usually done by speech language pathologists (or speech therapists).
